ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday said that he has forgiven Amir Liaquat for the anchorperson’s remarks against him and the party.

“Amir Liaquat has the right to criticise me and I forgive him for whatever he has said about me because I am not fighting a personal battle, my cause is Pakistan,” Imran said while speaking to a private news channel.

The PTI chief added that all party leaders are in agreement over Amir Liaquat’s inclusion and that ‘no one is leaving the party because of that’. “We all welcome Amir to PTI,” Khan added.

Lauding Liaquat, Imran said that PTI selects its ‘players’ not on the basis of liking and disliking of people, but purely on merit. “PTI goes for match-winning players and Amir Liaquat is one of them. He can be the party’s representative in Karachi and would also offer his services in the media,” Imran added.

Commenting on the appointment of caretaker prime minister, Imran said that an economy expert should be chosen for such a post since the country’s current economic condition is ‘miserable’.

The PTI chief also took jabs at Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi saying that the premier ‘has no reputation of his own’ and works according to Nawaz Sharif’s instructions. “I have never seen a PM as weak as Abbasi,” Imran commented.
