ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday said that Indian aggression poses a threat to peace in the region and that the country’s peace-friendly policy should not be mistaken for its weakness.
Speaking to Pakistan Day ceremony in Islamabad, President Mamnoon termed March 23, 1940 as a historic day for the country. “There is no other day like March 23 in history as on this day the country’s forefathers decide their own fate,” He said.
Mamnoon also praised the Pakistan Armed forces for their valiant efforts in the country’s fight against terrorism. “We have faced the challenges of Zarb-e-Azb and Radul Fasad with great courage, and this has only been possible due to ummatched professional capabilities of the security forces,” the president said.
Continuing his speech, Mamnoon criticised Indian aggression across the Line of Control (LOC) adding that Pakistan’s peace-friendly policy should not be mistaken for its weakness.
He added that the solution to the Kashmir issue is only possible through peaceful means and that Indian aggression can not suppress the freedom movement in the region.
