KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday said that Asif Ali Zardari and the Sharif brothers are the termites of politics who are consuming the country’s resources. “Sharif brothers have been governing Punjab for two decades but the standards of policing in the province are absymal. Same is the situation in Sindh. Nawaz, Shehbaz and Zardari are corrupt individuals and termites of politics whose only aim is to loot the country’s resources,” Imran said while speaking at a ceremony in Karachi. Imran added that Pakistan has to bear the consequences of Nawaz Sharif’s ‘corrupt practices. “The people of the country have been heavily indebted due to Nawaz’s corruption,” The PTI chief stressed. Continuing his jabs at the country’s political scenario, Imran said that the main motive of politicians is to accumulate wealth and property and that PTI’s war is against ‘such mafia’. On the other hand, Imran termed PTI’s politics as exemplary, while he also emphasised that countries are destroyed due to institutional fragility and not atomic bombs. “If institutions are working with utmost transparency, corrupt people can not accumulate wealth. Countries are destroyed due to weak institutions not because of Atomic bombs,” Imran concluded.
