LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that all tenures of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government is filled with selfless service to the people and credit for taking the country out of crises and putting it on the road to progress and prosperity goes to the ruling party. He said this in a meeting with State Minister for Industries and Production Arshad Leghari here on Monday. The chief minister said that the PML-N government had achieved the historic goal of illuminating the country, which was earlier drenched in the darkness of power shortage. “A large number of people were benefiting from mega projects completed by the provincial government and they were also reaping the fruits of various reforms initiated in different sectors, including health, education, agriculture and infrastructural development,” he added. Shehbaz said that the industrial development has been boosted which has created new job opportunities in the country, adding that every possible step was being taken for national development. “Load shedding was eliminated from the country by completing energy projects, he added.” He said that the PML-N government has burnt the midnight oil to achieve the goal of a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan and added everyone will have to work hard with honesty and trust for national development. Every section of the society will have to play its role in this process, he observed. He went on to say that the vibrant nations were not afraid of difficulties rather they face them with bravery and encourage and added we all will have to shun our internal differences and take part in the journey of development so that we could compete with other nations of the world. “It was satisfying that Pakistan of today was much better than that of 2013,” he maintained. Taking a jibe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Shehbaz said that the time of the nation was wasted due to sit-ins and lockdowns, adding that Imran Niazi had left no stone unturned to disrupt the development process Further criticising his political opponents, he said that Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Zardari-Imran Niazi duo showed that they had no concern with the development of the people. The conscious people of Pakistan will bury this anti-development alliance with the power of their votes,” he said. “The PML-N will further accelerate the journey of development and prosperity by standing victorious in the upcoming elections,” he added. Separately, Shahbaz Sharif congratulated Chinese President Xi Jinping for becoming Chinese president for life and termed it a welcome step. He said that Chinese development and prosperity had become a role model for other nations and added that credit for the development process went to Chinese President Xi Jinping. The CM said that China has achieved pinnacles of glory under the leadership of Xi Jinping and due to his ideology; China has progressed by leaps and bounds. He further said that ideology of the Chinese president depicts high moral values and broad approach of collective wellbeing. He went on to say that due to best economic policies and continued hard work, China has become a leading economy in the world today. The Chinese nation has sincerely worked hard under his dynamic leadership against poverty, joblessness and injustice,” the chief minister said. Shehbaz said that “due to CPEC project, Pakistan-China friendship and economic relations are touching new heights and China’s 60 billion dollars investment in Pakistan is a self-explanatory proof of this strong friendship.” It is heartening that China has emerged as a global economic power due to the untiring efforts of the Chinese leadership. China is such a sincere and trustworthy friend which has always sided with Pakistan in every hour of trial.
