LAHORE: Anwarul Haq Punno of Independent Group was Saturday elected president of the Lahore High Court Bar Association for the year 2018-19 by securing 3,648 votes. Chaudhry Shahid Buttar of Professional group could bag 2,949 votes and third candidate for top slot Azar Latif Khan secured only 1,164 votes. Chaudhry Noor Samand Khan won the seat of vice president with 2,947 votes. His rival Masood Gujjar, Shaista Qaiser and Rashid Ali Wains bagged 1,726, 1,583 and 1,469 votes, respectively. Hassan Iqbal Warraich won the seat of secretary by securing 4,724 votes. He defeated Fayyaz Ahmad Ranjha who bagged 2,989 votes. Hafiz Allahyar Sipra was declared winner for finance secretary seat with 2,594 votes. It was for the first time the LHCBA complete polling was held under biometric system.
