LAHORE: Sindh police have started an advertising campaign making use of social media to aid its efforts to arrest all 16 accused in the extrajudicial murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud. Mehsud, a 27-year-old native of Waziristan, was among three others killed by former SSP Malir Rao Anwar and his team in a staged encounter on January 13. Anwar and his accomplices in the Police Department have since been in hiding, however, some policemen have been taken into custody by the investigators for questioning. Police said on Friday that the latest campaign was initiated to tell the public about all 16 accused officers, since media had so far only covered the case with reference to Rao Anwar. The pictures of the accused along with their names and identity card numbers will be shown across media platforms, they said. They said videos of the accused officials would be published on social media. Published in Daily Times, February 24th 2018.
