DUBAI: Karachi Kings produced an all-round performance to outclass last year’s runners up Quetta Gladiators by 19 runs in the second match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Dubai International Stadium here Friday. After opting to bat first, Karachi posted 149 for the loss of nine wickets, courtesy Colin Ingram’s 41 off 21 with the help of five fours and two sixes. Veteran all-rounder Shane Watson was the pick of the bowlers for Sarfraz Ahmed-led unit, as he claimed three wickets and just gave away 22 runs in his four overs. Along with Joffra Archer, the flavour of the season, and Anwar Ali, Watson choked the flow of runs.
In reply, Quetta fell 19 runs short of the target and only managed to post 130 for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Left-handed batsman Umar Amin finished the innings with the top score of run-a-ball 31 with the help of four fours, whereas all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz scored fighting 30 off 20, including three fours and one six. For Karachi, captain Imad Wasim and pacer Tymal Mills claimed two wickets each.
Brief scores: Karachi Kings 149 for 9 (Colin Ingram 41, Shane Watson 3-22) beat Quetta Gladiators 130 for 9 (Umar Amin 31, Imad Wasim 2-19, Tymal Mills 2-27) by 19 runs.
