Hyderabad: Asma was a humanist first than anything else and that’s why anyone from a marginalized and vulnerable from an Okara farm to a bonded laborer of rural Sindh, from forced conversation victims of Sindh to Balouch missing persons in Balochistan and from Hazara victims to misuse of blasphemy law always looked towards her for their plight. She indebted Pakistanis right-based struggle beyond ethnicity and sectarian influences struggle and will never be replaced by anyone. Pakistan in any legal constitutional political and human rights crisis will always remember the leader of the voiceless. This was jointly resolved by a civil society moot titled “Remembering Asma Jahangir-A civil Society Condolence Reference” organized by Center for social change, Safwco and rights now Pakistan today at Hyderabad. Reference was attended by a large number of civil society and right based activist’s academia lawyers and citizens. Published in Daily Times, February 20th 2018.
