CTD arrests Daesh commander in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: The Counter Terrorism Department on Sunday claimed that it foiled a potential terrorist bid and also arrested commander of a banned extremist outfit near Wania Wala road.

According to sources, CTD acted on a tip-off and conducted a prompt operation near Wania Wala area. The sources added that the counter terror unit has arrestedan alleged commander of banned Islamic State (IS) or Daesh, identified as Sabir Hussain alias Abu Yasir.

The authorities are said to have also recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) and other weapons from the arrested.
