KARACHI: Paramlitary Rangers on Saturday claimed to have arrested at least 13 suspects during ongoing targeted raids. Two suspected militants of the banned TTP were arrested in Kharadar area. In another raid in Kharadar area, a Rangers team arrested a man identified as Kumail. They said he was believed to have played a role in the Lyari gang war. A Rangers spokesperson later said that during interrogation the suspect had admitted to his involvement in a grenade attack at Shah Alam Market in 2015. Also in Kharadar, Rangers troops arrested a political worker belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London. Meanwhile, four men were arrested from Gulshan-e-Maymar on suspicions that they were involved in street crimes and five on charges of drug peddling. Arms and narcotics were also recovered from their possession. The suspects were later handed over to the police. Published in Daily Times, February 18th 2018.
