LAHORE: The Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) sealed six unlicensed brands of bottled water by discarding huge quantity of water bottles during raids in several areas of the city on Monday. A PSQCA task force led by Deputy Director Asghar Ali and Rizwan Ali raided different areas of the city, including Township, Kacha Jail Road, Qainchi, Iqbal Town and Kot Lakhpat and sealed six unlicensed bottled water brands, including Premium Care, Atlantis, Aquafer, Crystal Care, Kashmir and Lahore Water. The PSQCA director general ordered the task force to continue action against illegal brands of bottled water and said that strict action would be taken against the companies involved in preparing substandard and illegal food items. He said that special teams had been formed to check sale of illegal water brands. No illegal brand will be permitted to continue business, he added. Published in Daily Times, February 13th 2018.
