GUJRANWALA: All the rescue officials involved in the lawyer’s torture case were sent to jail on judicial remand by the court here on Friday. Police produced the accused in tight security while Judge Sadia Aslam ordered to send the accused on judicial remand. All the accused were involved in torturing lawyer Mohsin Butt. Six days physical remand has been granted to police by the court. Three human traffickers arrested: FIA teams have arrested three more human traffickers here from Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Sialkot. Deputy director Mufakhir Adeel stated that the crackdown against human traffickers was carried on and FIA teams as a result of different raids have arrested the accused Shabbir Ahmed, Zulifqar Ahmed and Gulfam Ilyas whom were involved in sending people abroad illegally. Action against kite flying: Gujranwala: As a result of a crackdown against violation of kite flying act, Kotwali Police have arrested two accused namely Ashfaq and Riaz and recovered 1,800 kites from them. CPO Ashfaq Khan has directed all the SSPs and DSPs to carry on crackdown against kite flying and strict action may be taken against the violators. Published in Daily Times, February 10th 2018.
