LARKANA: A 3-day boys and girls scouts camping was started at Government Pilot Boys Higher Secondary School on Wednesday in connection with Shahar-e-Benazir Festival by District Boys Scouts Association. As many as 450 girls and boys were taking part belonging to 10 schools and 7 open groups. The scouts have displayed historical models and unique historical portraits. The camp was inaugurated by Rangers Colonel Muhammad Asim who said that he was pleased to see patriotism and spirit of youngsters due to which future of country would be bright. He said unity should not only be among scouts but it should be in nation that would keep our enemies away and they would not be able to harm us. He said purpose of 3-day camp was not only to strengthen discipline among scouts but to develop self-confidence, unity and trust among them. He said our partners were discharging their duties to safeguard country in Siachen, North and South Waziristan and elsewhere while away from their families like scouts who were also away from their families during such camps. Deputy Commissioner, Kashif Ali Tipu said that this camp has been established after 14 years which would also be organised in future. Mayor Aslam Shaikh said that he was member of Shah Latif Scouts in 1972 and then he became president of the group. Published in Daily Times, February 8th 2018.
