Modern day scream queen and Hollywood’s leading lady of the early 2000s, Sarah Michelle Gellar started off as a young actress in ‘Swans Crossing’ and received widespread recognition in the daytime soap opera ‘All My Children’ and the cult classic ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. She not only has a Golden Globe nomination to her credit but holds the prestigious Emmy Award for portraying the villainous Kendall Hart. Being a diehard fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar since the age of seven, her celebrity status is revered by many. However, her fame has died down in recent years, especially following the fate of ‘Cruel Intentions’, the reboot television series based on the 1999 drama. What is next for Sarah? She is currently the co-founder of Foodstirs and has authored her first cookbook Stirring up Fun with Food. She is married to Freddie Prinze Jr and has two children, Charlotte and Rocky. Although her entrepreneurial skills have worked wonders to start up a successful e-commerce brand offering GMOs-free food, I am anticipating an exciting television project or film on her end. After all, she is an actress first! Despite the recent failures, I laud Sarah for not giving up on her acting career and delivering her best in almost every project, knowing that some had not worked in the recent past. For the readers out there, if you haven’t watched the unaired pilot of ‘Cruel Intentions’, I would recommend you watch it! Sarah’s performance as Kathryn Merteuil is stellar I recall watching Buffy Summers slaying vampires and demons back in 2001 when I was six years old in California, US. Eventually, my admiration for Sarah’s craft and acting took its toll and I can affirm that I knew the correct pronunciation of her surname beforehand. It was later in my early 20s that I learned about Sarah’s versatility as an actress. Her horror flicks ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’, ‘Scream 2’ and ‘The Grudge’ were classics! Needless to say, her most endeared role was in the 1999 drama ‘Cruel Intentions’. Sarah further proved herself in drama films ‘Veronika Decides to die’, ‘Suburban Girl’ and ‘Southland Tales’. Her return to acting was highly anticipated in the fall of 2011; Sarah starred as twins in Ringer, a show I adore to this day. It was sad to see it go, thanks to the CW for canceling it and giving ‘Gossip Girl’ a run for an additional season. She followed this with a CBS comedy sitcom ‘The Crazy Ones’ starring opposite the late Robin Williams. Again, the show was cancelled. However, in 2016, it was revealed that Sarah would return to the small screen in the TV adaptation of the 1999 film ‘Cruel Intentions’. The pilot was shipped by Sony to different networks and has not been picked yet. Sarah’s performance as Kathryn Merteuil is stellar! I hope Sarah announces a TV comeback soon! I am dying to watch her on the small screen once again. She is a Hollywood royalty for sure and her past ventures are still the talk of the town.
