Sir: Various private schools in Sindh raised their fees without any prior notice. Increasing inflation and taxes have already made it difficult for the general public to purchase daily use items and now this sudden increase in the school fees is proving an additional burden on parents, which is unjustifiable. Due to the high fees, many parents are unable to send their children to schools. It seems that the sole purpose of educational institutions is to generate capital instead of providing quality education to children. The managements of private schools claim that they have increased the fee due to the imposition of heavy taxes on them by the Board of Sindh Revenue. Private educational institutions have not issued any prior notice to parents regarding the fee hike that has made it very difficult for parents to arrange the money in such a short period.
