Water Commission annoyed over sewage dumping in canal

DADU: Water Commission team constituted by Supreme Court on water supply issue in Sindh arrived at Dadu.

Justice (retd), Amir Hani Muslim, chief of the Commission along with his team visited Dadu Canal and water supply schemes and ponds of water that supply water to city.

Amir Hani Muslim took serious notice releasing of drainage water of the city into a canal by municipal committee, dumping filth in canal and its close areas.

SE PHE-Abdul Wahab briefed him about water storing ponds which was started with cost of Rs 800 million and so far two water ponds were completed. Justice retd asked SE PHE to submit bills to the water commission and directed him to call the store keeper.

Hani Muslim inquired regarding the absence of the chairman of the municipal committee. DC Dadu, Raja Shah Zaman Khuhro informed him that the chairman was a patient of heart disease hence he was went to hospital after informing him.

While Hani Muslim also asked about absence of TMO municipal committee Dadu and showed his displeasure.

Earlier, during visit to Dadu Canal, SE irrigation Dadu, Sajid Hussain Bhutto briefed him about the canal.

Water Commission team has directed factories of Nooriabad not to release industrial toxic waste into Nai on arrival at Nooriabad.

Team on visiting factories held meetings with owners of factories. Hani Muslim showed his dissatisfaction on releasing of toxic effluent into Nai. Chairman of Commission directed civil judge and judicial magistrate Thano Bula Khan to visit factories and submit report of releasing toxic effluent of industries.
