Sir: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s term in office is ending soon, and it is likely that his political career will as well. He has been summoned by NAB, and this has made him furious. He bluntly criticized NAB Chief Javed Iqbal for taking this step, and expressed his dismay over the allegations of corruption against him. The NAB Chief is a decent and fair person who is only doing his job. He has no personal vendetta against Shahbaz. Shahbaz should realize this and not throw tantrums like his elder brother, Nawaz. Lets not forget the time Nawaz said that he will let the media know about the ‘real’ reasons for his ouster, along with evidence. The media is still waiting for Nawaz’s revelations. Sadly Shahbaz has proceeded like Nawaz, and has stated that he will expose the ‘true face’ of the NAB Chairman. He should exercise more restraint. Shahbaz also spoke about Asif Ali Zardari’s corruption and all the money he has stashed away in Swiss banks. He claims that no one can prove even a rupee’s worth of corruption against him, saying that if someone does prove it, he will go home after apologizing to the public. Sadly, Shahbaz has a poor record when it comes to keeping promises. JAVAID BASHIR Via E-Mail Published in Daily Times, January 24th 2018.
