KARACHI: Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi while talking to annual award ceremony of Pakistan Navy Logistics Command on Friday emphasised on the importance of a technology-rich naval force to ensure the country’s defence. Speaking to the ceremony, Admiral Zafar stressed on the need of a modern and well-equipped naval force for protection of the country as well as maintenance of regional maritime stability. He also stated that Pakistan Navy has equipped its manpower with professional capabilities to counter any sort of internal or external enemy threat. CNS also commended hard work and dedication of the navy logistics command for ensuring provision of navy ships and submarines at all times to carry out operational activities. Talking about the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC), the admiral ensured that Pakistan Navy would go to any limits to defend both CPEC and Gwadar port from any sort of threat. In his concluding remarks, Admiral Zafar said that nations develop when they are self-sufficient and depend on themselves rather than when a nation relies on foreign aid.
