Director and producer Vikram Bhatt’s horror/thriller ‘1921’ released on Friday and has since then raked in moolah at the box office. The Zareen Khan and Karan Kundra starrer was received wonderfully well in theatres, topping the weekend box office collection amongst other films that were released on the date of January 12. The film’s total earnings have been Rs 6.45 crore so far in India alone. If one doesn’t forget, much hype was created for the film when Vikram Bhatt reported that he saw a ghost while shooting for the film. This Karan Kundra and Zareen Khan starrer is based in the year 1921 and tells a love story amidst a scare fest. The film starts in Bombay 1921 with a crowd of audience waiting for a performance to begin. The host apologises for the delay and goes backstage and furiously tells a lady called Nafisa to call Ayush played by Kundra, who has locked himself in a room. They break the door down to see Ayush has slit his wrist So far, the film has collected much more during the weekend than Jimmy Shergil’s ‘Mukkabaaz’ that managed to collect only Rs 4.04 crore and Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Kaalakaandi’, which raked in a total sum of Rs 3.85 crore. The film features debutante Kundra and Khan and a major chunk of has been shot in Britain. Like we mentioned earlier, the film has managed to create a lot of buzz and hype on social media already, where prominent film critics and journalists are already raving about it. Other than Kundra and Khan, Toby Hinson and Sonia Armstrong also star in the film. The official announcement of the film was done in June 2016. ‘1921’ has a total of nine songs sung by Arnab Dutta, Arijit Singh, Akanksha Sharma, Rahul Jain, Pranit Mawale and Harish Sagane.
