KARACHI: A seminary teacher was booked for his alleged involvement in abusing a seminary student sexually in East district of Karachi on Sunday. Gulistan-e-Jauhar police officials said that the family of the victim accused a seminary teacher of abusing their son sexually. Gulistan-e-Jauhar Sub-Inspector Haji Iqbal said that the family accused Saleem, a seminary teacher, of abusing their 14-year-old son sexually on Saturday. The officer said that a first information report under section 377 of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered against the seminary teacher on the complaint of the family after the medical test confirmed the sexual assault. Police launched a manhunt to arrest the accused. Separately, a three-year-old was reportedly molested by a group in Sandhar district. After the reports of the incident surfaced, Sindh Police Inspector General (IG) AD Khawja also took a notice of the incidents and directed the SSP East and Sanghar to submit reports and findings of initial investigation as soon as possible.
