LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has decided to participate in the planned protest of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek to seek justice for the victims of Model Town tragedy. In this connection, a meeting of the party was held on Saturday which was attended by senior central leader and former deputy prime minister Ch Parvez Elahi, Secretary General Tariq Bashir Cheema, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Moonis Elahi, Ch Zaheeruddin, Muhammad Basharat Raja and Hafiz Ammar Yasir. In the meeting, newly-elected Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo was heartily felicitated by the leaders and on behalf of the party and views were exchanged in detail regarding Pakistan and future situation of politics. It was decided that a delegation of PML headed by Ch Parvez Elahi will take part in the protest to be staged on January 17 on Mall Road. Earlier, Model Town tragedy Action Committee Member Senator Kamil Ali Agha presented the report and preparations regarding the protest were reviewed. The meeting regretted that the bereaved families of those martyred and injured in the tragedy are yearning for justice. Published in Daily Times, January 14th 2018.
