KARACHI: Nearly 300 CIOs, IT heads, and technologists from across Pakistan attended the 5th Pakistan CIO Summit 2017 held in Karachi on Tuesday, to share knowledge and information about the latest trends in IT sector. The summit was inaugurated by Dr Irfan Ali, executive director (BP&RG), SBP. Dr Ali hoped that the summit would help highlight issues that the IT industry was facing. He said that it was imperative for companies to have a board of directors with at least one tech savvy person to give the strategic direction on how companies’ objectives could be met using technology. The allied expo, 3rd IT Showcase Pakistan, brought together 16 companies from Pakistan, along with several others from the UAE, China and UK. The theme of the summit was ‘Solutions for Tomorrow – Agility for Digital Enterprise’, where speakers, technologists and panellists spoke on the latest topics;including cloud computing and business agility, enterprise agility and IT management and data security in the agile digital enterprise.
