LAHORE: Cosmos Health Services (CHS) and World Medical Hospital (WMC) Thailand will set up around 100 hospitals and clinics across the country. While talking to Daily Times, Ashba Kamran, the Cosmos Health Services CEO, said that the plan was to set up 100 hospitals and urgent care clinics across Pakistan. “In this new healthcare system, a comprehensive team of medical experts will give ICU based rehabilitation, medical care supported by the latest technologies and evidence based international standards, personalised and specialised service that maximise functional recovery as well as respect of cultural values and role of the family,” she said. She said that recently the joint venture document that aimed to provide international standard medical services and facilities was signed by Cosmos Health Services and World Medical Hospital-Thailand Chairman Dr Chalerm Harnphanich. CHS directors Qudsia Mumtaz, Amina Hasnain and a WMC delegation from Thailand, including Marketing Director Kantaporn Harnphanich and Finance Director Pumipat Chantnoraset, were also present. WMC Marketing Director Kantaporn Harnphanich highlighted features of this joint venture. He said that the venture might become a potential resource for the medical tourism between the two countries as Thailand was already considered the hub of medical tourism where millions of people came every year to get medical treatment. He also stated that their company owned and operated 12 private hospitals and one polyclinic in Thailand. Ashba Kamran added that the first-ever collaboration between a Pakistani and a foreign medical consortium would focus on introducing the latest technologies in the fields of planned surgeries, palliative care and in other areas of advanced medical procedures. She added that the vision of CHS was to become the standard bearer of ‘premium healthcare’ throughout Pakistan where patients would be provided state of the art solutions for traumatic injuries in an ICU-based environment. She stated that it would be her top priority to at least build one such facility in every city of the country where it would be ensured that foreign nursing staff is hired for better care of patients. “CHS is the state-of-the-art healthcare facility centre having 12 rooms and an emergency with three-beds to provide best healthcare facilities to the patients,” she added. She said that provision of premium healthcare with five-star amenities throughout Pakistan there target. “Every patient will be treated at our state-of-the-art healthcare facility. They will experience privacy during their road to recovery. Our brand new patient rooms are fully renovated and include an en suite bathroom at no additional cost,” she added. Ashba Kamran said that the facilities would provide in this healthcare system including care managers, medical officers, premium rooms equipped with cardio monitors and respirators, trained paramedics and ambulances, 24/7 nursing/care assistants in premium rooms, air conditioning /heating, infection controlled environment, grooming, housekeeping, hospital information management system), Wifi internet and tablets for Skype communication, prescriptions, discharge slips and invoice delivered to rooms and valet reception.
