ISLAMABAD: A seven-member delegation from the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GUFS) China led by University Board Chairman and President Sui Guangjun Sunday visited the National University of Modern Languages (NUML). During the visit the delegates met NUML Rector Major General Zia Uddin Najam (r) and visited various departments of the varsity. NUML Director General Brig Muhammad Ibrahim, registrar, directors, deans and heads of Departments also present on the occasion. During the one on one meeting with the NUML rector, Sui Guangjun said, “The NUML is playing an extraordinary role in promoting Chinese language and culture in Pakistan and that the GUFS is keen to enhance the students exchange programme and start joint research initiatives with the NUML to further extend the relations between two countries.” He briefed the rector about the GUFS in detail and discussed the possible cooperation in different field. In his address, the NUML rector welcomed the worthy guests and said that Pakistan and China have had deep cordial relations. He said that the NUML had signed various memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with different Chinese institutes/universities and the varsity was looking forward to promote educational relations between the two countries. He said that the NUML could assist the GUFS to teach Urdu to Chinese students via online classes.
