LAHORE: The 33rd edition of the National Games will be organised from October 07 to 14 2017 in Quetta. “The decision was taken during a meeting at Serena Hotel in Quetta on Friday,” said a spokesman for the Pakistan Olympic Association yesterday. “The mega event will be participated by all the affiliated units of the Pakistan Olympic Association belonging to all parts of the country,” said POA Secretary General Muhammad Khalid Mahmood. He said a high-level delegation of the POA comprising its President Lt Gen (r) Syed Arif Hasan, Vice President Ch Muhammad Yaqub, Secretary General Khalid Mahmood met Balochistan Sports Minister Mir Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Balochistan Secretary Sports Asmatullah Kakar and Sports Board Balochistan Director General Munawar Hussain and decided the dates and other allied aspects of the premier activity.
“The POA will extend all out cooperation to the organisers for the successful holding of the Games,” he said. Khalid Mahmood added that Provincial Sports Associations of Balochistan, National Sports Federations recognised by International Federations concerned and the Pakistan Olympic Association would only be the legitimate representatives of the National Games.
