KHAIRPUR: At least 17 people dead and five others were left injured after an accident occurred in Khairpur, Sindh early Monday.
According to police officials a coal laden truck was on its way from Ranipur to Sukkur when it attempted to overtake a van on the Shah Hussain bypass.
ASP Rai Mazhar Iqbal was quoted as saying that the overloaded truck lost control while overtaking the other vehicle and fell on the van which was heading Punjab from Karachi.
The bodies of the deceased as well as the injured have been taken to Khairpur’s Civil Hospital.
