LAHORE: A high-level meeting was held on Friday with Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the chair, which decided to launch “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Dehat Program”. It also reviewed different matters pertaining to the local government development package and “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Dehat Program.” Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Dehat Program” would prove an important milestone to improve the system of cleanliness in villages. “This program will be carried out through the concerned local bodies and it will augur well for bringing a qualitative improvement in the lives of the people living in villages. Due to the neat and clean atmosphere, the people will remain safe from different diseases as an effective system of village cleanliness will be introduced.” The Chief Minister said that cleanliness of villages as like cities is our responsibility and keeping this thing in view, an elaborate system of cleanliness is being introduced at the level of the union councils in villages through “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Dehat Program”. He said enjoying a neat and clean atmosphere is the right of the rural populace and they will be given this right through the “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Dehat Program”. He directed to devise a comprehensive mechanism to dispose of the solid waste in an effective manner. He said that regular third-party audit of this program will be compulsory, adding that the districts showing exemplary performance under this program will be encouraged by the government. He directed that the process of cleanliness be completed in the villages till the end of December. The provincial steering committee will regularly monitor the progress made on different aspects of the program so as to maintain general cleanliness in the villages. Provincial Ministers Mansha Ullah Butt, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Hamza Shehbaz Sharif MNA, special assistant Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, Chief Secretary, Lord Mayor Lahore, Chairmen of District Councils of Narowal, Faisalabad and Sheikhupura as well as officials concerned attended the meeting. The DC and Commissioner of Sargodha Division participated the meeting through video link. Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif said the elements involved in the politics of falsehood and mendacity should realize facts, as hindering the development process is no service to the people. “The elements which are devoid of the passion of public service do not want any progress in the country. Instead of serving the people, the political jugulars have wasted the precious time of the nation. The political future of the ones who have been involved in allegation-leveling and negative politics is bleak. The people will reject the persons doing negative politics in the election of 2018. We have treated public service as a noble cause as Pakistan is our country and we all have to work collectively to make it even better.” He expressed these views while talking to the members of the National Assembly who called on him. He said the people do not want baseless allegations and a politics based on falsehood, but they need development and prosperity. He said the elements showing worst performance in their province are only doing politics of accusations. “The conscious people cannot be fooled by the support of the falsehood, as lie has no legs to stand upon. That’s why the elements involved in telling lies have to cut a sorry figure while truth has prevailed upon at every occasion.” He said the political elements trying to gain at the cost of the prosperity of the people should take pity on the nation. “The public service is our mission and it will be fulfilled at every cost, he added.” He said the country has been moved forward on the road to development after saving it from the troubles. “A new example has been set by saving billions of rupees in the development projects. The opponents are at liberty to speak up their minds but we shall not retrieve from the mission of public service. We are fully committed to the national development and every effort has been made to get the country rid of the problems. We are working a full passion for public service and our welfare initiatives are a conspicuous proof of it. We have transparently utilized national resources for the betterment of the people. How the elements who have been involved in land grabbing and waiving off loans worth billions of rupees can make a hue and cry against the corruption. The elements leveling baseless allegations should first peep into their own deeds as the people have fully realized that allegations of the defeated elements are just a pack of lies.” The Chief Minister said that the whole politics of the head of a political party is based on falsehood and deceit and he is the founder of the politics of anarchy, falsehood and hypocrisy. “The people will never allow the elements trying to impede the development process of the nation to succeed.” Those who called on the Chief Minister included Alimdad Lalika, Ch Armaghan Subhani and Tahir Bashir Cheema.
