ISLAMABAD: The Basic Education Community Schools (BECS) programme, in collaboration with HADI Foundation, on Tuesday launched a health support programme to provide free education to children of 145 community schools of two districts. According to details, the programme will initially be launched in two districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Peshawar and Mardan. Under this collaborative programme, existing Basic Education Schools will be upgraded and children of 145 community schools of the two districts will be provided other supportive facilities such as preventive health care services, mental health counseling and drug awareness free of cost. An official statement said that nutritional counseling, support for eating disorders, parent education and counselling, health education, physical activities and exercise awareness was also part of the launched programme.
