KARACHI: Buyers, sellers, clients, prospective traders, media, journalists, bloggers, fashionistas, socialites and all the designers got together on Friday to support the initiative of Made in Pakistan as part of Trade & Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) as well as Fashion Pakistan’s collaborative effort. The platform seeks to showcase all export worthy apparel on the ramp, bringing in business and investment. Indeed, a highly lucrative and one if its kind venture by TDAP in its bid to highlight Pakistan and its skill. Seven pret designers showcased their truly distinct collections on Day 1.AMIR ADNANThere was a monochrome winter vibe to Amir Adnan’s collection which designed by Parishay Adnan. All the outfits a casual, earthy feel to them. Waistcoats, loose pyjamas, kurtas, scarves and bandannas were some of the best pieces from the collection.DEEPAK PERWANIThe veteran designer showcased a lot of pieces from some of his previous collections. Wearable bright shades with the outfits exuding a practicality element were exhibited along with statement accessories that we know the designer for. Chandelier earrings, maxis, short kurtis and palazzo pants were some of the highlights of Deepak Perwani’s collection. Yellow, orange and red were some dominant colours in his collection.FnK ASIAAlso designed by Parishay Adnan, the collection stood out for its cool, casual look with a lot of silk tops, satin pants and peek-a-boo-cut sleeves. Nabila had worked her magic with braided locks and pulled back hair. Mauves, peach, black and navy blue was the dominant colour palette.HASSAN RIAZ Hassan Riaz’s collection truly stood out on Day 1. I feel like it was a very daring collection which was ahead of its time for fashion forward people who have their minds in a parallel universe. There was truly an element of bravery in letting his mind slip. Knitted woolen dresses, spiralled cocoons and slacks for men with minimal embellishments were the highlights of his collection. A fun, lively and a unique collection which broke away from the norms of rehash after rehash.NOVA LEATHERSome memorable and noteworthy pieces were there like tasselled leather jackets, skinny jeans, grey zip jackets for girls, brown and black leather jackets for men.TENA DURRANITena Durrani displayed gowns, maxis, button down sleeveless dresses, frill frocks with sone of the most contemporary cuts like the peek a boo one with a colour palette of cream, blue, gold, silver, green and orange.THE PINK TREE COMPANYOne of the best collections of the night was by The Pink Tree Company.
