MITHI: First ever science laboratory would be established in Government Primary School North Colony Mithi. School Management Committee (SMC) Head Vijay Kumar Sharma said that reforms should be brought in primary education level. Sharing the annual school plan, he informed that they were going to start early childhood education (ECE) class, establish first ever science lab at primary level schools, introduce health assessment programme, set up English medium schools by the help of SMC funds and support of likeminded people. SMC member and Pakistan People’s Party activist Sushil Malani said, “My uncle is a member of Parliament but our children study here. I feel proud that I have received my early education from this school and my child is studying here now.” Educationalist Partab Shivani said the society needed such types of head in schools who wanted to bring something new. He said that technology, education and development had to be promoted and appreciated the fact that half of the students enrolled at the school were girls. “Thar has only 6.91 percent female literacy ratio, and we need to improve it,” he said.
