AJK PM inaugurates State Electricity Dept Power Project

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq said that the process of rationalization in the State Electricity Department has formally begun. While addressing the inaugural ceremony of the newly accomplished project (Operation Division Muzaffarabad 2 for the Electricity Department) in the State, he said that the government was aware that there would be pressure on the infrastructure after the cost of electricity for consumers was fixed at three rupees per unit.

The PM said that this massive subsidy to electricity consumers should been made conditional on 99 percent of the people ensuring payment of electricity bills.

He said that it was imperative that things should be looked at from a consumer-oriented approach without any pressure

He said that during the past couple of years the highest investment in hydel power projects has been made in the Jhelum Valley. He said that the government was taking all possible measures to strengthen the ongoing freedom movement in occupied Kashmir and utilizing it’s energies to take it to its logical conclusion.

The noted with concern that an incident of sexual harassment took place recently and a flurry of posts appeared on social media saying Prime Minister’s Press Secretary was involved in the incident.
