Services’ exports up by 8.58% in 11 months

The export of various services witnessed 8.58 percent increase during the first eleven months (July-May) of the fiscal year 2024-25 as compared to the corresponding months of last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.

According to the latest PBS data, Pakistan earned $ 7,648.29 million from the export of services during July-May 2024-45 as compared to services’ export of $ 7,043.66 billion in July-May 2023-14.

The services’ imports also witnessed growth of 6.62 and were recorded at $ 10,317.37 billion against $9,676.87 the previous year.

Based on the figures, the services’ trade deficit witnessed an increase of 1.36 percent during the months under review by growing from the deficit of $2,633.21 in FY2023-24 to $2,669.08 during FY2024-25.

Meanwhile, on year-on-year basis, the exports of services in May 2025 increased by 1.57 percent to $704.39 million from $715.45 million in May 2025.

On the other hand, the imports however decreased by 5.07 percent by going down from $935.45 million to $888.00 million, according to PBS data.

On month-on-month basis, the export of services decreased by 0.05 percent in May 2025 when compared to the imports of $715.84 million in April 2025. The imports of services also declined by 1.62 percent in May 2025 compared to imports of $902.56 million in April 2025, PBS reported.
