Excise deptt offers 10% discount via City App

The Excise and Taxation Department of Islamabad on Wednesday offered the residents to use the City App to pay their vehicle token tax from home, as the new financial year underway.

The department is offering a 10% discount throughout July to encourage timely digital payments and help citizens avoid penalties, said the spokesman of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration here.

He said that the Excise and Taxation Department of Islamabad has introduced a convenient digital facility for residents to pay their vehicle token tax without visiting any office. The initiative is aimed at promoting contactless and hassle-free tax submission through the City App, available on both Android and iOS platforms.

In this regard, Director Excise and Taxation, Bilal Azam Khan, appealed to citizens to take advantage of the City App and submit their token tax promptly to avoid any legal action. He emphasized the importance of meeting the annual deadline and urged the public to not delay tax payments.

To make the process easier, the department has launched a July-only incentive. Anyone who pays their token tax through the City App during the month of July will receive a 10% discount. This offer applies to all eligible vehicle owners who make their payments through the mobile application.

The City App can be downloaded using the provided link and is designed to offer a simple and accessible user experience for Android and iPhone users alike. Through the app, users can view their vehicle details, calculate tax amounts, and make secure payments—all from the comfort of their homes.

Authorities are aiming to reduce physical queues and streamline the tax collection process by encouraging residents to shift to online transactions. The app also ensures that users receive digital receipts, which can be used for recordkeeping or in case of future verification.

This digital option is part of the Islamabad administration’s ongoing efforts to modernize its public services and minimize in-person visits to government offices. The department believes that the 10% discount will motivate more vehicle owners to adopt this paperless tax system.

Residents are encouraged to download the app today and make their token tax payment before the end of July to benefit from the available discount and stay compliant with the law.
