A high-level meeting was held at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office under the chairmanship of Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, to review the status of ongoing and upcoming development schemes for the current fiscal year.
During the meeting, Director General Technical Services, Mr. Tariq Mughal, provided a comprehensive briefing to Mayor Karachi. He informed that KMC will be executing 105 development schemes worth Rs. 11 billion during the month of July, marking a major step forward in the city’s infrastructure uplift.
DG Technical Services also apprised that KMC has successfully secured development schemes worth Rs. 29 billion from the Sindh Government for the current fiscal year. Out of these, 166 schemes have been planned, which will be completed within the fiscal year at any cost. He further added that 73 schemes were successfully completed in the previous fiscal year, and 45 more are on track for completion in the ongoing year.
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab emphasized the importance of ensuring high construction standards, transparency, and timely execution of development works. He directed all concerned officials to maintain strict quality control and remain vigilant, especially during the monsoon season, to prevent disruptions and ensure public safety.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner S. M. Afzal Zaidi (PAS), Gulzar Abro (Financial Advisor), Daniyal Siyal (Director Media), and other senior officials of KMC.
Mayor Karachi reiterated KMC’s commitment to accelerating the city’s development and delivering visible results to the citizens of Karachi.
