Fake spy caught in Hyderabad, sensitive cards, arms seized

A man impersonating an officer of a sensitive intelligence agency was arrested along with five armed private guards in a dramatic police operation in Latifabad.

The suspect, identified as Danish Iqbal, was moving in two vehicles with a full security escort when the Section B Police acted on credible intelligence and intercepted him. Upon inspection, police recovered a fake ID card of a sensitive agency, an entry pass for Quetta Garrison, luxury vehicle documents, four high-end mobile phones, cash amounting to Rs 1.3 million, fake currency worth Rs 250,000, and multiple cheques from different banks.

Additionally, police seized a small armoury including two 30-bore pistols, two Kalashnikov rifles, and a 12-bore shotgun. According to the sources, Danish Iqbal was running a fraud operation, deceiving people with promises of employment and agency-level favours.

During the investigation, it was revealed that this is not his first offence — he was previously arrested in 2021 by the Cantonment Police Station for a similar scam. The accused and his guards are now in custody, and police are expanding their investigation to identify accomplices and victims.
