Trump: We ‘obliterated’ Iran’s nuclear sites, no talks needed

US President Donald Trump said on Monday he is not offering anything to Iran, nor holding any talks. He claimed there is no need for dialogue after the US and Israel attacked Iranian nuclear facilities. “We totally obliterated their nuclear sites,” Trump posted on Truth Social. He compared his stance to former President Obama, saying, “I am not offering Iran ANYTHING.”

Meanwhile, Iran’s deputy foreign minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi told the BBC that no talks can happen unless the US rules out more attacks. He said Washington wants to return to the table, but Iran needs clarity first. “Are we going to see another strike while we’re negotiating?” he asked, pressing the US for a clear stance.

Tensions soared after the US joined Israel on June 21 in bombing Iran’s Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites. These attacks followed an earlier Israeli strike. Iran claims the US assured it had no plans for regime change and avoided targeting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

Takht-Ravanchi defended Iran’s right to enrich uranium. He said enrichment levels and amounts could be discussed — but not banned entirely. “To say zero enrichment or we bomb you — that’s the law of the jungle,” he warned.

The full damage to Iran’s facilities remains unclear. Trump insists they were destroyed. The UN nuclear watchdog, however, said Iran could restart uranium production “in a matter of months.” Under the 2015 nuclear deal, Iran was limited to 3.67% enrichment. After Trump left the deal in 2018, Iran raised levels to 60%, enough for several bombs if further refined.
