WhatsApp to introduce easy multi-account switching in upcoming update

WhatsApp is gearing up to launch a game-changing feature that will let users switch between multiple accounts with just a tap—no need to log out or restart the app. This much-awaited addition is currently in beta testing for iOS (version 25.19.10.74) and will soon be available in a future update.

The new multi-account switching feature will be located within a dedicated section in the settings. Users will see a clear overview of all their registered accounts, including profile pictures and names, making it easy to select and switch between them.

Once a user selects a different account, WhatsApp will instantly switch to it—loading that account’s specific chat history, notification tones, backup settings, and auto-download preferences. This ensures a smooth and personalized experience for each account without affecting the data of others.

Moreover, WhatsApp will show clearly formatted notifications for messages received on secondary accounts. These alerts will include the sender’s name and the account name, eliminating confusion while juggling multiple profiles. Tapping the notification will take users directly to the correct conversation after automatically switching accounts.

This feature is especially useful for users managing personal and professional accounts or those using multiple phone numbers via eSIM technology. With eSIM support growing on newer iPhone models, WhatsApp’s update is timely and efficient.

Although still under development, the new feature promises to enhance productivity and convenience. WhatsApp has not announced an exact release date yet, but users can expect it to roll out in one of the upcoming updates.
