PESHAWAR – Internal divisions within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have become more visible, as tensions among senior leaders continue to disrupt the party’s internal structure.
Party sources reveal that disagreements over key issues, especially budget-related decisions, have created serious rifts. These conflicts have led several senior leaders to withdraw from key meetings and adopt silence to prevent further damage.
In addition, social media misrepresentation has added fuel to the fire. Party insiders claim that opinions of several leaders are being twisted online, creating confusion and weakening organisational unity at the grassroots level.
Provincial President Junaid Akbar expressed frustration over limited access to the party’s founder, saying only a few individuals are in the loop. He said many leaders remain unaware of key policies, making meaningful participation nearly impossible.
Due to these concerns, Akbar said he and others chose not to attend recent consultative and political committee meetings. He stressed that unless PTI embraces an inclusive approach, its organisational structure could suffer major setbacks.
Meanwhile, sources hint that more senior leaders may soon voice their dissatisfaction publicly. If left unresolved, these ongoing internal disputes could seriously damage PTI’s influence and stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
