Karachi — Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Thursday, mirroring an upward trend in international markets. The price of gold per tola rose by Rs1,335, reaching Rs356,000, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
The price of 10 grams of gold also climbed by Rs1,144, settling at Rs305,212. This increase follows Wednesday’s modest rise of Rs300 per tola, showing a continued upward momentum in the precious metal market.
Globally, the price of gold also moved higher. The international rate stood at $3,340 per ounce, including a $20 premium, after gaining $13 during the day, as per data shared by APGJSA.
Alongside gold, silver prices in the local market also saw a notable increase. Silver per tola rose by Rs86, bringing the price to Rs3,850.
Analysts suggest that rising global uncertainties and demand for safe-haven assets are pushing precious metal prices upward, both in Pakistan and abroad.
