Finance bill 2025: Cabinet meeting called under PM Shehbaz’s leadership

The federal cabinet will hold a crucial meeting tomorrow (June 26, 2025) to review and approve the new Finance Amendment Bill for the upcoming fiscal year. The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM at the Parliament House in Islamabad.

Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb will give a detailed briefing to the cabinet on the proposed changes in the bill. The Finance Amendment Bill is expected to include key tax adjustments, revenue targets, and spending plans, aimed at meeting IMF requirements and stabilizing the economy. After the presentation, the bill is likely to be approved and forwarded to the National Assembly for debate and passage.

Along with the financial matters, the meeting will also discuss the overall political and economic situation in the country. Cabinet members will assess ongoing economic pressures, inflation trends, and public concerns related to new tax measures.

Furthermore, the cabinet will be briefed on recent decisions made by the National Security Committee (NSC). This includes updates on internal security, border management, and regional developments, as well as efforts to ensure national stability during economic reforms.

This cabinet session holds special importance as the government prepares to implement tough economic measures to address fiscal challenges. The decisions taken in this meeting will shape the country’s economic direction for the next 12 months and influence Pakistan’s relationship with global financial institutions.
