Gaza ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Israel have gained fresh momentum in recent hours, according to a senior Hamas official. This development follows US President Donald Trump’s statement hinting at significant progress toward resolving the Gaza conflict.
As reported by AFP, a senior Hamas leader confirmed on Wednesday that discussions aimed at reaching a ceasefire in Gaza have intensified. Mediating countries, especially Egypt and Qatar, continue to play a central role in facilitating dialogue between the two sides.
Hamas spokesperson Taher Al-Nounou stated that communication with mediators in Egypt and Qatar has remained ongoing and, in recent hours, has become more active. He emphasized that their engagement with these “brotherly mediators” has never been interrupted.
However, Al-Nounou clarified that Hamas has not yet received any new or concrete proposals that could bring a definitive end to the war. Despite the intensified discussions, a final agreement remains out of reach for now.
The remarks from Hamas come at a time when international calls for de-escalation are growing louder. With hopes rising for peace, the spotlight remains on the progress of these delicate negotiations.
For now, all eyes are on the mediators and conflicting parties as the world waits to see if a lasting ceasefire in Gaza can finally be achieved.
