Hilaria claps back at comments on her weight

Hilaria Baldwin is shutting down the body shamers. The 41-year-old posted a video on Instagram June 16 in which her kids Carmen, 11, and Leonardo, 8-whom she shares with husband Alec Baldwin-took turns effortlessly lifting her up off the ground, though she struggled to do the same in return.

While some social media users found the clip endearing, others proceeded to speculate about Hilaria’s weight. One commenter seemed to insinuate that the mom of seven-who also shares Rafael, 10, Romeo, 7, Eduardo, 4, María Lucía, 4, and Ilaria, 2, with Alec-was drawing attention to her petite frame, writing in quotations, “Look how light I am!”

But in response, Hilaria made it clear she was highlighting her children’s growth, writing back, “How about ‘look how strong my kids are’?”

Another user suggested Hilaria’s kids were able to carry her “because you all bones,” commenting, “Do you eat?”

To that, the Yoga Vida founder-who is also stepmom to Alec’s daughter Ireland Baldwin, 29-offered a matter-of-fact answer: “Well yes I do.”

Hilaria did engage with some of the more positive comments as well, including one from a user who shared, “I used to do this with my mom too. She was 5″1 and I was 5″8.”

In return, Hilaria predicted that she might soon be outgrown by her kids as well.

“I feel like this is going to be them,” she responded. “They all got the tall genes. Me not so much.”

While Hilaria and Alec’s brood may not have surpassed them in height just yet, they’re not afraid to take their parents down a peg. After all, when Hilaria and Carmen sat down with E! News in April, the tween had the most blunt response when asked when she realized her mom and dad were famous, deadpanning, “They’re not.”

Carmen then added that her friends were just as unimpressed with her family’s celebrity status.

“They don’t ask about you guys because they don’t care,” she told Hilaria. “They don’t know about you, they might know about dad.”

Nonetheless, Carmen described Hilaria as a “cool mom,” revealing her favorite mother-daughter activity: “We get our nails done.
