ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of two protest-related cases against PTI workers and announced that formal charges will be framed at the next hearing on June 30.
Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain presided over the proceedings related to the PTI protest held on November 26. The cases have been registered under anti-terrorism laws, highlighting the serious nature of the charges.
PTI leaders Sardar Muhammad Masroof Khan and Zahid Bashir Dar appeared in court to represent the accused party workers. During the hearing, the court handed over copies of the charge sheet in the case filed by Margalla Police Station.
In the second case, one of the accused submitted a discharge request, which the court took under consideration. However, no decision was announced on the request, and the case was also postponed.
The court adjourned both hearings until June 30, when it will formally frame charges against the accused. The decision is expected to mark a key step forward in the legal process surrounding PTI’s protest cases.
These cases are part of a broader legal crackdown on PTI’s demonstrations, which have drawn nationwide attention due to their scale and the nature of the charges.
