The Lahore High Court has reserved its verdict on former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s bail applications in eight cases linked to the May 9 incidents. The hearing took place on Monday before a two-member bench headed by Justice Shahbaz Ali Rizvi.
Representatives of the concerned authorities appeared before the court during the session. Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had filed bail petitions in eight different cases related to the violent protests on May 9.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court decided to reserve its judgment. The decision will be announced at a later date.
These cases stem from the unrest and attacks on state and military installations following Imran Khan’s brief arrest in May 2023. The PTI leadership has repeatedly denied involvement in organizing or inciting the violence.
The legal proceedings continue to be a major political development, as Imran Khan remains entangled in multiple court cases across the country.
