Tourists flocking to northern parts with discounted ‘joint tours’

As summer temperatures soar across Pakistan, tourists are flocking to the cooler northern regions like Hunza, Skardu, and Naran-Kaghan, where lush landscapes and serene beauty offer a much-needed escape and this year, discounted joint tours and shared tourist vehicles are making these destinations more affordable and accessible for vacationers.

A recent report aired by PTV News highlighted the growing influx of tourists to the northern regions, with many travelers opting for affordable joint tours and shared tourist vehicles.

These arrangements have made the otherwise expensive trips more accessible, especially for those who wish to experience the beauty of the north without breaking the bank, report added.

According to the report, tourism agencies have been offering discounted packages for group tours, allowing families and groups of friends to share transport and accommodation costs.

This has not only reduced the financial burden on vacationers but has also made it easier for more people to enjoy the cool climate and natural beauty of the region, said a tour operator.

Many tourists have expressed their excitement about the summer vacations, particularly with the new joint family tour options.

“The beauty of Hunza is beyond words and with the shared tour options, it is much more affordable for families like ours,” said one vacationer.

“It is a great way to bond and explore without the stress of high costs.” Tourists also mentioned how the shared vehicles and group tours make the travel experience more social and fun.

“We have met so many interesting people on our journey,” said another traveler, “It feels like a little community traveling together.”

Officials from the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) have also acknowledged the surge in tourist activity, with some expressing concerns over the large number of visitors in popular spots.

“The influx of tourists has been overwhelming, but it is a great sign of the country’s growing tourism sector,” said one PTDC official.

“We are working hard to ensure that the infrastructure can accommodate these visitors without compromising the experience.”

However, they also mentioned that the popularity of joint family tours and shared transport has helped alleviate some of the pressures on local accommodation and travel resources, official added.

The PTDC is encouraging more tourists to opt for these group packages to maintain a sustainable flow of visitors throughout the summer.

In addition to the financial benefits, a tourist commented that the joint tours have fostered a sense of community among tourists. It has allowed people from different parts of Pakistan to come together, sharing stories and experiences while exploring the natural wonders of the north.

“These joint tours have brought people together in a way that’s special,” said a tour organizer.
