Staff Report

Retired policeman arrested in pornography case in Muzaffargarh

The Sadar police in Muzaffargarh have arrested a retired police constable in a disturbing case involving the sexual abuse of children and the production and sharing of indecent videos.

According to the FIR registered at Sadar Police Station, a young boy was allegedly abused and filmed when he went to suspect’s cattle farm in Sardarabad village to collect his brother’s unpaid wages. The boy’s elder brother had previously worked for the accused as an animal caretaker.

Police said the accused not only recorded the abuse but also used the videos to blackmail the victims. Some of the footage was reportedly uploaded and circulated on social media platforms.

Following a video statement by the victim, Saddar Police launched an immediate investigation and arrested the suspect. The case was filed by the cousin of the victim, under Sections 292 and 355 of the Pakistan Penal Code, along with sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). The suspect confessed to the crime during initial questioning.

Police have recovered four mobile phones from the accused, which have been sent for forensic examination. Authorities are also working to identify and assist other potential victims.

District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Muhammad Rizwan has directed DSP City to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure legal proceedings are pursued to the fullest extent. This incident follows a separate operation in Daira Din Panah, Kot Addu, where the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two suspects involved in an international child pornography network. Dozens of indecent videos were recovered, allegedly being sold to foreign clients via the dark web. The Muzaffargarh Police have urged parents and community members to remain alert and report to police.
