80-year-old tech tycoon earns $40 billion in a week, now world’s 2nd richest

Larry Ellison, 80, has become the second richest person in the world after earning $40 billion in just one week. He now has a net worth of $250.9 billion, overtaking tech giants Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg.

According to Fortune Magazine, Ellison co-founded the tech company Oracle, and owns 41% of its shares. A huge rise in Oracle’s stock, driven by success in cloud computing, boosted his wealth in a short time.

In one day alone, his fortune jumped by $25 billion. A few days later, it rose another $16 billion. This extraordinary growth placed him just behind Elon Musk, who remains the richest with $405.8 billion.

Zuckerberg currently holds $240 billion, while Bezos has $229 billion. Both are now below Ellison on the billionaire list. Larry Ellison started Oracle in 1977 as a database software company. It later became a cloud tech powerhouse.

He is also known for his bold lifestyle. He owns a private island and flies military aircraft as a licensed pilot. His wealth and business legacy continue to grow as Oracle expands its global reach in the tech world.
