Bomb blast derails Jaffar Express near Jacobabad

As many as four bogies of a passenger train derailed after a powerful bomb blast blown up the railway track in Jacobabad on Wednesday. Jaffar Express was going to Quetta from Punjab when it met the tragedy but no loss of life was reported from the site of the incident. Soon after the incident, local police, railway police and senior officials of the railway maintenance department quickly arrived at the scene to investigate the incident and initiate rehabilitation work. In March, Pakistan had suffered a heinous terrorist attack by the BLA on Jaffar Express passenger train, which included the taking of hostages in Balochistan, which resulted in the loss of at least 30 innocent Pakistani nationals. The March hostage-taking on the Jaffer Express passenger train in Balochistan, which lasted about 36 hours before security forces launched an operation that killed more than 30 militants from the terrorist Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). Also on June 13, Quetta-bound Jaffar Express coming from Peshawar derailed near Margalla tunnel in Taxila, causing suspension of railway traffic on Rawalpindi-Peshawar section. No casualties were reported in the accident. According to the railway authorities, the 40-down Quetta-bound Jaffar Express derailed due to “technical” reasons, disrupting rail traffic and halting trains on both up and down main lines.
