The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning for hot and dry weather across most parts of the country starting Wednesday. Severe heat is expected during the daytime, especially in the plain areas.
According to the Met Office, this hot weather pattern will continue from June 18 to June 21. Citizens, particularly children, women, and the elderly, are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe under the intense heat.
The authorities urge people to avoid direct sunlight between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. They recommend staying indoors as much as possible and drinking plenty of water to prevent heat-related illnesses.
In Islamabad, residents will experience hot and dry weather with strong daytime heat. Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also expected to face hot and dry conditions, with the plains seeing very high temperatures.
Sindh will mostly experience hot and humid weather, while upper and central parts of the province are likely to face extreme heat. Balochistan will have hot and dry weather, with southern and eastern districts experiencing very high temperatures.
Meanwhile, Kashmir may see partly cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain and thunderstorms. Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to remain generally dry, with partly cloudy conditions prevailing.
