China hails growing ties with Pakistan across various sectors

Hu Zhaoming, spokesman of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), held an interactive session with representatives of the Pakistani media here on Tuesday at the Chinese Embassy.

The session focused on evaluating shared concerns between the two countries, particularly in context of their bilateral relations, geo-economic interests and evolving security situation in the region.

In his opening remarks, Hu praised the deepening ties between China and Pakistan across various sectors, noting that widespread public support has made their bilateral relationship unique and exceptional one across the World. The governments and political parties of the two countries are fully committed to further reinforcing their all-weather cooperative partnership, he added.

Citing a Chinese proverb, Hu Zhaoming who is also Director General of the Information and Communication Bureau of the IDCPC stated that China values action over rhetoric. He said they are highly satisfied with the current status of their relationship. These reflect the shared and common aspirations of their peoples.

He also appreciated Pakistan’s all-out support for China on regional and international issues, particularly at international forums.

Acknowledging past challenges and difficulties in some areas, Hu remarked that these have never been hindered in the repaid growth of their deep-rooted bilateral ties.

He stressed the need for a more secure and stable environment, adding that there had always been room for further improvement of bilateral relationship in all areas of common interests.

According to him, without stability and security, economic development cannot be realized.

Hu also underscored the vital role of the media, particularly social media, in advancing mutual goals through constructive analysis. He emphasized that media should come forward further promoting the spirit of friendship and warmth of mutual sentiments at the public level.

He highlighted the significance of youth engagement and bilateral exchanges in sustaining the decades-long friendship.

About Pakistani political parties and leaders, he said they had always been on same page on Sino-Pak relationship, especially regarding the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

In response to questions, Hu stated that China supports Pakistan’s positive relations with all countries, including the United States. He added that China encourages the peaceful resolution of disputes between Pakistan and India through dialogue.
